Eye Discover and County of Los Angeles Public Health Build Stronger Communities at the 2026 Daddy Daughter Dance

The annual celebration returns this April, bringing families together to celebrate family, identity, and the power of community.

On a spring evening, Under twinkling lights, fathers and daughters twirl on the dance floor. The night is a time of connection, love, and celebration at Eye Discover’s annual Daddy Daughter Dance held in partnership with the County of Los Angeles Public Health.

Between sips of punch and posing in the photo booth, fathers and daughters connect bridging generation divides, strengthening bonds, and creating lasting memories.

The upcoming April 2026 Daddy Daughter Dance marks Eye Discover’s third year hosting the event developed to bring families closer together while promoting positive relationships and celebrating cultural identity.

“Partnering on the Daddy Daughter Dance is an opportunity to celebrate the bond between fathers and daughters and to highlight the powerful role Black and Brown fathers play in their families and communities,” said Kenosha Hawkins, founder of Eye Discover. “Hosting accessible community events like this allows us to create spaces where dads can connect, be present, and build lasting memories with their children.”

The spring celebration has become a much-anticipated tradition that brings families together. But behind the music and movement lies a deeper purpose — giving families a safe space to strengthen father-daughter bonds and celebrate identity.

Providing accessible, safe, creative spaces at the heart of Eye Discover’s mission. Through creative, culturally responsive programs, Eye Discover provides youth with access to art, STEM, activism, mentorship, and opportunities for self-expression. The Daddy Daughter Dance is part of the organization’s ongoing effort to host community events that nurture belonging, connection, resilience, and community pride, essential ingredients for a brighter, and healthier future.

The collaboration with the County of Los Angeles Public Health reflects this shared vision. Together, they’re creating experiences that encourage pride, meaningful conversations, and the belief that every family has a role in shaping a stronger community.
